Working with clients on a regular basis means I get to know their business inside out, keeping me on hand when they are launching something new or just need a little update.

Working together to set and style the table for the photoshoot

Whilst on a recent brand shoot for Chocolate treasures amazing new ice cream, Ebony told me about her new idea for chocolate wedding favours that would be a new product launch for them.

Normally I would capture product photographs in my home studio, but my brain started ticking and I really wanted to find a wedding venue to use to really capture the feel of a wedding and how those favours would sit to give the product images more impact.

The Power of Facebook

Through Facebook, I found Jane at the Mercure Burton upon Trent Newton Park Hotel offered for us to use the hotel that is always set up for a wedding. After a quick call, we realised the only thing that wouldn’t be present on the tables were flowers.

At this point, a lightbulb moment happens as my wonderfully creative client Jan at The Pretty Little Parlour is one of my seasonal clients (which means we work together all year long, so over 4 sessions you will have a huge bank of images through every season for your social channels and your website) and needs images of her wedding flowers. Jan creates the most amazing flowers so a quick call to her and she is on board too.

The big day

After a few texts and a planning call, we set off on the 14th of June with some beautiful wedding favours and flower arrangements to dress the wedding room in the hotel. We were greeted by the wonderful George in front of the house who was just fantastic all day, not only did he bring us tea and coffee, but he also went on the hunt for a few things we forgot like vases and scissors, brought us the most delicious lunch into the room once we were done. A beautiful place to hold a wedding, they hold wedding fayre’s throughout the year so be sure to check out when the next one is if you’re looking for a wedding location.

It really was an amazing collaboration between 4 businesses, for me personally being in a room with other creatives again working together just makes me so happy. It can be a lonely old world sometimes being self-employed, but when surrounded with like-minded business owners you find your team and collaborations are always fun.

The Results

I think the pictures speak for themselves, I love them, they love them. They are beautiful and elegant and has equipped both businesses with on-brand images showcasing exactly what they do.

Chocolate treasures have product photographs of their amazing favours. The Pretty Little Parlour has photographs to promote her wedding flowers for her website, and the hotel has all these shots and hotel shots of their venue itself. A wonderful day all around.

We were even talking about ideas for Christmas/Winter themed weddings so look out for that blog at the end of the year.
